On iOS:
Downloading YouTube videos directly to your iOS device is more difficult due to Apple restrictions.
However, there are apps that let you download videos and then transfer them to the Photos app.
One such application is Documents by Readdle. Follow these steps:
Install Docs using Readdle from the App Store.
Open the YouTube app and find the video you want to download. Press the Share button below the video and select "Copy link".
Open the Documents app and tap the built-in browser icon (compass icon).
Access an online YouTube video downloader, such as y2mate.com or savefrom.net, in the Documents app.
Paste the copied YouTube video link into the downloader text box and press the Download button.
Select the desired video quality and press Download. Once the download is complete, go to the Downloads section of the Documents app and you will find your downloaded video.
Tap the ellipsis (...) next to the video and select "Go to Photos". The video will then be saved in your Photos app.
